This is a view, looking west…
This is a view, looking west, from the canal bridge approach on Station Road. The short chimney, reflected in the canal, is, I believe, from the old tar works, the slim, tall, chimney, is at the old dye works, now 'Albert Loomes', at least for a few more days.
The buildings beyond the trees, are what is now 'Fletchers' timber yard, it used to be a yard for Derbyshire County Council, Highways Department, before we went over to Derby Borough Council.
