Central Electricity Generating Board's standard gauge 4wBE/WE locomotive Spondon No.1 pictured here at the power station c.1970. Built built by the English Electric Company at their Dick Kerr Works, Peston in 1935 it came new to Spondon Power Station and remained here until 1983 when it was sold surplus to requirements into preservation in West Yorkshire. Image taken from a 35mm colour slide loaned to the Society Archives.
