Leaving presentation to retiring Deputy Headmistress and Head of the Mathematics Department Miss M Rimmer. Second from left is Headmaster Mr John Pitts, then Christopher Whitt (Head Boy or ex pupil?) and Diane Brough (Head Girl). The DET article also announced that from the following year the school will then be known simply as Spondon School.

I'm sure this picture is of Miss Rimmer's leaving presentation in school year 1970-71. (I contributed towards the clock). Chris Whitt was representing former pupils, he would have left Spondon Park in 1969. He can be seen to be wearing a Spondon Park old pupils tie which Mr Jones used to sell to school leavers! The picture appeared in the Derby Evening Telegraph with a short report of the ceremony and Mr Pitt's speech in which he likened Miss Rimmer to Gordon Banks. I believe Diane Brough would have been the head girl at that time.
