Fernleigh Villa, 51 Dale Road built in 1897 by Joseph Maddocks for Mr and Mrs Frank Spendlove who lived here for the whole of their married life. It had a large garden and orchard, some of which was sold in 1963 and ibecame part of Fellside. The society holds original building specs and receipts from 1897-1899, some signed by Joseph Maddocks.
