Colin Ward writes: The lady to the left I think is Miss Kennedy, the one on the right Miss Dunn and the tall guy behind them is Mr Bembridge. Can anyone else verify? I left there in 1951

I believe the gentleman at the rear left might be the headmaster Mr Wilson,who gave me the slipper for running in the corridor and the elderly lady Mrs Borrow/Borough

This photograph was taken after a tree planting ceremony in the school grounds, my father Bill Barton pictured top right hand side
Was invited to attend the ceremony because he was one of the original children to go to the then new Spondon Springfield Junior School.
The photograph was taken in the boys play ground with the school canteen in the back ground.

Florence Woolley taught my dad before WW2. I was in her class around 1966-7 when she was Mrs Smith. I remember her spanking one of the naughty boys on the back of his legs. By then the Headmaster was NE Fisher who we called Fishcake.
