This was the site of the Mission Hall (Tin Tabernacle) or Church Army Hall, which was built of corrugated iron.  It wa paid for and endowed by Mrs Devas, who lived at The Hall, at the end of Park Road, which was later a school.  The original name for the Hall was Field House.
