My maternal grandparents…
My maternal grandparents lived at No. 31 Cambridge street from before the war until the death of my grandfather in 1964. Prior to that they lived in Reader Street, in Spondon. They were Mr Alec Parkin & Mrs Edith Parkin nee Gotheridge. My mother lived there until her marriage in 1952; she would have been 19 years old at the time of this photo - her name was Eileen Doris Parkin. Eventually, after marriage she went to live at No. 111, Arnhem Terrace, which was a right turn at the top of Cambridge Street. My grandfather once had an allotment at the end of his back garden in Cambridge street.
